Hopar and Nagar villages are situated in close proximity to the Bualtar Glacier, on old
moraines and ice-marginal lake beds. They are dependent entirely on snow and glacier meltwater
for domestic, agricultural, and other uses in this semiarid region, central Karakoram, Pakistan.
