provide essential and requested information at the time of delivery is an absolute
condition in order to achieve a smooth interaction. Therefore, it is of most impor-
tance that the interaction performs a real-time integration ability between the in-
formation collecting level and the information integrating level in order to exhibit
the best possible use of information in the following decision-making phase. In the
next section, two aspects of conceptual operational principles are presented, that
will increase the individual's capability to handle multi-dimensional information
flow. However, both systems present an increased human-related cognitive rela-
tionship and may be more suitable to human information processing than normal
presentation systems.
7.2
THE PERCEPTUAL-BASED INTERACTION
The interaction between an artificial and perceptual-based system and an indi-
vidual's perception is a crucial moment in the communication performance. The
essential concept of how to interface human perception may be of importance
in understanding, and making use of, the concurrent consensus that the human
capability of 1000 Mbits/s inflow of information received to our senses. Fur-
ther, an understanding is also needed, concerning the process of how it is fur-
ther processed and used for decision-making. According to Norretranders (1998),
we perceive through our senses huge amounts of information, however only a
few percent is consciously used. In Fig. 7.1 below, the estimated information flow
through our different sensing organs is illustrated. It can clearly be noticed that
the human vision is the most information-providing organ in the body. Therefore
special attention will be given to the human visual interaction with specificity of
