Animal studies
Animal studies have been carried out to confi rm the feasibility of percuta-
neous heart valve replacement on a beating heart. A sheep model was
employed for these studies, using aortic implantation with a self-expandable
cardiac tissue valve prosthesis. The security and effi cacy during and after
