P/PHBV scaffolds: (a) in relation to the total amount of encapsulated BSA

gelatin and (2) heparin immobilization, 59 as schematically illus-
trated in Fig. 45.11. For the physical entrapment of gelatin, gelatin
was first dissolved in a miscible mixture of 2,2,2-trifluoroethanol
(TFE) and distilled water (TFE:water = 30:70). TFE and water are
solvent and non-solvent, respectively, for the PHBV matrix. Sintered
Ca-P/PHBV scaffolds were immersed in the gelatin solution of 5
mg/mLconcentrationatroomtemperatureforsixhours.Theywere

tilled water. After this treatment, gelatin molecules were physically
entrapped onto the surface of Ca-P/PHBV nanocomposite scaffolds.
