In addition to using a negative mold, direct fabrication from the
slurry(withoutthefillingprocess)usingMSTLisbeingstudied.This
approach allows for the easier fabrication of a structure because it
does not require the molding process. Cho et al . introduced this fab-
rication method and showed that the fabricated structures that are
produced havevery complicated shapes (Fig. 31.7).
31.2.1.2 Biopolymer scaffold
Biopolymers, including synthetic polymers and natural polymers,
cannot be used in the sintering process. Therefore, several
researchers have introduced new methods for the fabrication of 3D
porous structures composed of biopolymers. These methods make
it possible to process various biomaterials, including synthetic and
natural polymers.
Jiankang et al . created 3D chitosan/gelatin scaffolds using
MSTL. 18 Specifically, high-resolution MSTL technology was used to
