Porous scaffolds play an important role in tissue engineering
and regenerative medicine as a temporary support to control
cell adhesion, proliferation, and differentiation and to guide the
formationofnewtissuesandorgansintodesiredshapesandcom-
plicatedstructures. Thescaffolds mustmeetcertain requirements
for in vitro and in vivo applications. A number of porous scaf-
foldshavebeendevelopedfrombiodegradablesyntheticpolymers
andnaturallyderivedpolymers.Scaffoldspreparedfromsynthetic
polymers and naturally derived polymers have their respective
advantages and drawbacks. Hybridization of the biodegradable
synthetic polymers with naturally derived polymers has been
employed to develop hybrid porous scaffolds in order to combine
their advantages and avoid their drawbacks. The biodegradable
