response to representative synthetic and natural biomaterials by
assessing inflammation at the implanted area. We prepared and
characterized PGLA/SIS films with five different ratios of SIS as
0%, 10%, 20%, 40%, and 80% to PLGA, performed subcutaneous
implantationofthesescaffoldsintorats,andthencomparedthehost
tissue response by reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction
(RT-PCR) analysis of TNF- α ,IL-1 β , and IL-6 mRNA expression, as
