Setting Preferences in TextPad
TextPad allows you to set many preferences to customize and arrange the contents and display of the
coding window. This section explains how to add the available Java commands to the Tools menu; turn
on line numbering so line numbers always display; and change preferences for color, font, and tabs in
TextPad.
Starting TextPad and Displaying Preferences
To set preferences in TextPad, you use the Preferences command on the Configure menu to display
the Preferences dialog box. Any preferences you set are saved when you quit TextPad, which means that
the settings still will be in effect when you start TextPad again.
The following steps illustrate how to start TextPad and display the Preferences dialog box.
To Start TextPad and Display Preferences
1. Click the Start button on the Windows taskbar. Point to All Programs on the Start menu.
When the All Programs submenu is displayed, point to TextPad.
The All Programs submenu is displayed (Figure C-7).
