Visio Services
Visio Services is the inal SharePoint service application that we cover in this topic. With it, users can
securely share Visio diagrams for viewing in a browser. Because designing data-driven Visio diagrams
requires a solid understanding of Visio and the data sources, BI developers will often have the primary
responsibility for content development. However, many Visio power users are capable of building
information-rich diagrams that visualize data in creative ways. Not all of them will be familiar with
Visio Services, so they may require assistance from BI developers with the publishing step.

Use Visio 2013 to do the following:

Produce web diagrams, optionally linked to a data source, to illustrate a business process,
organization chart, floor plan, or almost any other business scenario

Build a PivotDiagram to visualize for hierarchical data

■

Visualize data in any business diagram.

Use Visio Services to do the following:

Provide a means for users to share Visio diagrams with users who don't have Visio installed

Embed diagrams in custom applications

■
