data Quality Services
SQL Server Data Quality Services (DQS) is a new feature in SQL Server 2012 that contains the follow-
ing two components: Data Quality Server and Data Quality Client. Data Quality Server is installed on
top of the SQL Server 2012 Database Engine. Data Quality Client is a stand-alone application with
which you can connect to Data Quality Server. It provides you with a highly-intuitive graphical user
interface to perform data-quality operations and other administrative tasks related to DQS.
You can load filtered lists of data from Master Data Services (MDS) into Excel, where you can work
with it just as you would any other data. When you are done, you can publish the data back to MDS,
