Each store layout includes a detailed floor plan created in Visio, as shown in Figure 9-33, which is
for the Seattle store. The diagram of the sales floor shows the locations of the merchandise racks.

At this point, the diagram is a good start but isn't very interesting because it doesn't reflect sales
and inventory data. Consequently, we need to publish the diagram to SharePoint and link it to data.
Saving to Visio Services
You can save the diagram to Visio Services by using the same technique described in the section
“Saving to Visio Services” in the previous example.
Linking to data
The sales data for the store chain is kept in multiple SharePoint lists. One list aggregates data from all
stores, and there is a separate list for each store. To link the Visio diagram to data, perform the follow-
ing procedure:
On the ribbon, click the Data tab and then, in the External Data group, click the Link Data To
Shapes button (see Figure 9-34) to open the Data Selector Wizard.
