Visio Services: Example 1
In this example, you will use the Visio Org Chart Wizard and organization data that resides in Excel
to generate an org chart. You will also add several data graphics to reflect current performance and
training metrics and then publish the resulting diagram to Visio Services.
Note This example uses SharePoint Online that is part of Office 365; however, it will work in
essentially the same way using your organization's SharePoint servers.
Organizing the data
The data you will use to create the organization chart for this example resides in Excel and is shown in
Figure 9-16. However, as you will notice in step 3 of this exercise, you are not limited to Excel. You can
use Microsoft Exchange data as well as other sources to build your chart.
