When do I use Visio and Visio Services?
It might sound trite, but the ways in which Visio can be incorporated into BI applications are limited
only by your imagination. There is a place for Visio and Visio Services in any situation in which a visual
presentation, enhanced by the live display of data in graphical form, can help you achieve your orga-
nization's goals. This section includes case studies to describe how several organizations have taken
advantage of data-rich diagrams to create BI.
In the first case study, a software vendor was already creating considerable value for their custom-
ers. However, the company found that presenting large quantities of statistical data, maintenance
information, and live status feedback about thousands of printers was hugely more effective when it
added a visual component.
