dashboard-like experience in SharePoint. No chapter on BI in Excel Services would be complete with-
out discussing how to use a Web Part to show content from an Excel workbook as part of a Share-
Point dashboard.
Create a workbook
The first step is to create a workbook in Excel. You can use the workbook previously created, or you
can create any other simple workbook. For this portion, I created a new workbook with the sales
amount PivotTable and a simple chart based on that data. After you have created the workbook, save
it in the Shared Documents area of the site on which you wish to create the dashboard.
Create the dashboard page
The next step is to create a new page in SharePoint by performing the following procedure:
Go to the site that you want to contain your dashboard page. On the Quick Launch bar, click
the Site Contents link.

At the bottom of the Site Contents page, click the New Subsite link, as illustrated in
Figure 6-14.
