Notice the level of visual fidelity that is maintained even though this file is rendered in the browser.
Excel Services generally also has complete calculation fidelity (there are some formulas which are
deactivated on the server for security reasons because they can expose information about the server
environment).
Also note that the workbook is interactive—try interacting with the PivotTable and note that the
data refreshes on the server just as it does on the client. Also, try using one of the slicers and note
that the entire report is sliced just as it is in Excel client.
Observe that there is a setting to control whether the default click on a document opens the Excel
file in the client application or Excel Services. To access it, from the SharePoint document library in the
browser, on the ribbon, click the Library tab and then, in the Settings group, click the Library Settings
button. On the Library Settings page, click the Advanced Settings link. In the Opening Documents In
The Browser section, you can choose whether the document library follows the server policy, opens
by using the web browser, or opens by using the client, as shown in Figure 6-12.
