Filtering by using tiles
Sometimes, you might not want to filter every visualization in the view. In that case, you create a tiles
container into which you place the visualizations to be filtered. You can place any type of visualization
inside a tiles container except a scatter chart or a chart for which you have configured multiples.
Adding tiles to a visualization
To get started, click on a visualization to display its layout section and then drag the field to use for
filtering to the Tile By box. Although a field with an image data type is shown in Figure 5-37, you can
use a field that contains a string value, instead. Each tile represents a distinct value for the field in
the Tile By box. Unlike a slicer, you can click only one tile at a time, which Power View then uses to
filter each visualization in the tiles container. You can identify the current tile selection by the border
around the image or the darker font when using a string field as a tile.
