Those new data sources were already available from the PowerPivot Add-In, but now, they are
available from Excel 2013. As Chapter 1, “Business intelligence in SharePoint,” describes, you can use
the OData feature to bring SharePoint list data into Excel by way of exporting an OData feed on the
ribbon of the list properties. This becomes extremely useful as more and more data is stored in
the form of lists in SharePoint.
Let's try importing data from an open OData data source from the web. On the ribbon, click the
Data tab. In the Get External Data group, click the From Other Sources button and then, in the drop-
down list that appears, click From OData Data Feed. In the Data Connection Wizard (see Figure 4-13),
in the Link Or File text box, enter the location of the data feed, click the Use The Sign-In Information
For The Person Opening This File option, and then click Next.
