Let's first see what happens when we import a single table from a Microsoft SQL Server database.
On the Data tab, in the Get External Data group, click the Other Sources button and then, in the
drop-down list that appears, click From SQL Server, as shown in Figure 4-3.

The Data Connection Wizard opens. On the Connect To Database Server page, in the Server Name
text box, type the server name and instance of the SQL Server that you want to access, choose the
authentication method (see Figure 4-4), and then click Next. On the Select Database And Table page
of the wizard, in the Database name drop-down list, choose the database from which you want to
import the data. For now, use the sample AdventureWorks database, as shown in Figure 4-5, and then
click Next.
