As you can see, there is a pick box inside the cursor.
Without issuing any command, you can:
Click on any object to select it.
Find an empty space, click, and then go to the right to get the
Window
mode.
Find an empty space, click, and then go to the left to get the
Crossing
mode.
Once you select the desired objects, right-click to get the following shortcut
menu:
