Plant Care:
Ifyourcucumbersaregoingtobelyingontheground,thenlaythemonacoveringorstraw
to protect from the wet soil. Hanging Cucumbers may have to be supported on the vine.
Cucumbers need constant watering as inconsistent watering can result in a small, bitter
plant. To avoid over watering, a quick tip is to stick your finger into the soil and if it is dry
beyond the first joint then water is needed.
Harvesting:
Harvest your cucumbers regularly to maintain a healthy crop when they reach 6 inches and
over; or if pickling them around 2 inches.
Keep picking them as they grow on the vine as the vine will stop producing if they are not
picked, and those that remain will become tough and slightly bitter.
As they are 90% water, cucumbers are better stored wrapped tightly in plastic film. They
will last at least 7-10 days in this condition if stored in a cool place.
