Avoid planting near mint or lettuce.
Peppermint:
A good companion as it attracts beneficial insects and repels ants, aphids and cabbage fly.
Rosemary:
Beans, broccoli, cabbage, and hot peppers all benefit from being planted alongside rose-
mary.
Planting carrots and pumpkins nearby is not advised as rosemary makes a poor companion
for them.
Thyme:
Many plants such as cabbage, eggplant, potatoes and strawberries will benefit from plant-
ingthyme nearby; asit attracts many beneficial insects tothe garden including honeybees.
It is also accredited with chasing off tomato hornworm, cabbage worms and flea beetles.
