SFG Accessories
One of the exciting aspects of the SFG - as indeed with the Raised Bed Garden - is the
ability to easily change it to suite your own particular gardening requirements; this is par-
ticularly the case when considering weather or discouraging the pests ( in all their varieties)
that may come to visit!
In the picture below you will see an example of a mini-greenhouse effect that utilises two
traditional SFG's to form a longer growing area.
The frame is simply constructed from plastic 1” piping that you can obtain from most DIY
stores or plumbing suppliers. This is attached to the inside of the frame using method in the
picture underneath. Access to the inside is achieved by simply to lifting up the polythene
sides - which are in turn fixed between two lengths of 2” x 1” timber.
Once lifted they can easily be held up by fixing a couple of 'S'shaped holding brackets to
the frame; thereby allowing you to service your SFG.

to the SFG frame when closed - or better still to strong fixings in the ground.
The end piece of polythene covering is simply held together with a couple of suitable cro-
codile clips from the DIY store.
