The main routes between Sweden and Finland are the E4 from Umeå to Kemi and Rd 45
from Gällivare to Kaaresuvanto; five other minor roads also cross the border.
Germany
BUS
Eurolines runs services from Göteborg to Berlin (Skr1500, 15 hours, five weekly).
TRAIN
Hamburg is the central European gateway to Scandinavia, with direct trains daily to Copen-
hagen and a few on to Stockholm. Direct overnight trains and Swebus Express buses run
daily between Berlin and Malmö via the Trelleborg-Sassnitz ferry ( www.berlin-night-ex-
press.com ; from Skr449, nine hours).
Norway
BUS
Nettbuss runs from Stockholm to Oslo (from Skr632, 7½ hours, five daily) via Karlstad, and
from Göteborg to Oslo (from Skr209, four hours, several daily). Swebus Express has the
same routes with similar prices. In the north, buses run once daily from Umeå to Mo i Rana
(eight hours) and from Skellefteå to Bodø (nine hours, daily except Saturday); for details,

The main roads between Sweden and Norway are the E6 from Göteborg to Oslo, the E18
from Stockholm to Oslo, the E14 from Sundsvall to Trondheim, the E12 from Umeå to Mo i
Rana, and the E10 from Kiruna to Bjerkvik.
TRAIN
SJ trains run twice daily between Stockholm and Oslo (Skr433 to Skr588, six to seven
hours), and at night to Narvik (Skr916, about 20 hours). You can also travel from Helsing-
borg to Oslo (Skr837, seven hours, twice daily), via Göteborg.
