(autumnwinter; mid-October to Christmas) Reindeer are divided into
grazing groups
(sijdor)
and taken to winter grazing grounds in the forest. Surplus reindeer
are slaughtered.
Dálvve
(winter; Christmas to the end of February) Herders frequently move the reindeer
around the forests to make sure the reindeer get enough lichen to eat.
