This backpackers' delight is spread over two buildings, with comfortable doubles and
dorms with wide bunks, sharing guest kitchens and a wonderful wooden sauna. Brothers
Tomas and Andreas keep a large team of sled dogs; dogsledding packages (from Skr1200)
and northern-lights tours (from Skr600) are not to be missed in winter. Cross the railway
tracks 150m east of Abisko Östra station.

This 300-bed place overlooking Torneträsk lake is a massive hiker destination. The dorms,
cabins and private rooms are overpriced for what they are, but there's huge demand for the
excellent facilities: guest kitchens, a basement sauna, a supply shop and an excellent res-
taurant to treat yourself to a sumptuous post-hike three-course dinner (Skr395). Guided
day treks, caving and tours are available.
