Silver Cross 45
HOSTEL
(
070-644 28 62; www.silvercross45.se ; Fjällströmsvägen 16; s/d/tr/f Skr300/500/550/600;
)
Doubling as a gallery for glass creations, this family-friendly hostel has cosy wood-pan-
elled rooms and shared facilities. Prices include bed linen, a budget-range anomaly, as is
the on-site hot tub and the TV-DVD player in every room, with the exception of the most
'rustic' option - a Sami-style teepee.
Lapland Lodge B&B, HOTEL
( 0960-137 20; www.laplandlodge.se ; Östra Kyrkogatan 18; B&B s/d/f Skr690/850/950, hotel s/d
Skr1490/1890; )
Next to the church, this friendly B&B offers a range of room configurations (some en
suite) in a pretty yellow house. Contemporary comforts sit amid antique style accented
with old wooden skis, antlers and snowshoes. The new hotel wing is all en suite. An out-
door hot tub and sauna are available, and snowmobile, ice-driving and husky-sledding
tours run in winter.
Hotell Laponia HOTEL
( 0960-555 00; www.hotell-laponia.se ; Storgatan 45; s/d/ste Skr1190/1290/1990; )
All heavy dark wood inside, Arvidsjaur's only hotel gets booked out by drivers in winter
who come to test the Mercedes, BMWs and Porsches on ice. This is also one of the nicer
places to eat in town - the bistro-pub serves a very good weekday buffet (Skr85) - and
there's a spa.
Hans På Hörnet CAFE
(Storgatan 21; mains from Skr59; 10am-5pm Mon-Sat)
A very local spot, serving inexpensive lunches: salads, sandwiches and pies.
