Ski Areas SKIING, SNOWBOARDING
( www.hemavantarnaby.se ; day ski pass Skr350)
Tärnaby and Hemavan offer decent downhill skiing and the day ski passes are valid at both
resorts. There's a good mix of runs for all abilities at the two, though Tärnaby's are more
extensive and there's plenty of opportunity for night skiing. If that's not challenging
enough, experienced skiers can go off-piste or arrange heli-skiing trips at the tourist office.
If snowboarding, jumps and tricks are more your bag, there are two fun parks in the area
also.

full suspension and protective gear to boot, and can also organise heli-biking tours of vary-
ing difficulty.

STF Hostel Hemavan
HOSTEL
( 0954-300 02; www.svenskaturistforeningen.se/hemavan ; s/d from Skr330/430; )
A sprawling complex of a hostel, STF Hemavan is perpetually busy with hikers. The sep-
arate blocks are each equipped with a kitchen, and while the rooms are bland and unmem-
orable, the facilities (cafeteria, swimming pool, climbing wall, lively bar upstairs in the
main building) are top notch.
