AIR
Umeå Airport AIRPORT

The airport is 5km south of the city centre. SAS and Norwegian fly daily to Stockholm's
Arlanda and Bromma, Malmö Aviation to Göteborg and Stockholm and Direktflyg to
Östersund. Airport buses connect it to the city centre (Skr40, 20 minutes).
BOAT
RG Line FERRY

Ferries between Umeå and Vaasa (Finland) run once or twice daily (Skr349 one way, four
hours, Sunday to Friday) from Holmsund, 20km south of Umeå.
BUS
The long-distance bus station is directly opposite the train station. Ybuss runs services
south to Gävle (Skr435, 6½ to 7½ hours, two daily) and Stockholm (Skr430, 9¼ to 10
hours, two daily), stopping at all the coastal towns.
Buses 20 and 100 head up the coast to Haparanda (Skr356, 6½ to 7¾ hours, up to six
daily) via Luleå (Skr310, four to five hours) and Skellefteå (Skr177, two to 2½ hours).
Local buses leave from Vasaplan on Skolgatan.
TRAIN
Departures include five daily trains to Stockholm, including two overnighters (Skr804,
nine hours), while the north-bound trains to Luleå (Skr295, five to 5½ hours, two daily)
stop in Boden, from where there are connections to Kiruna (Skr647, 7½ to 8½ hours, two
daily) and Narvik (Norway; Skr452, 11 hours, daily).
