Beautifully constructed of wood and stone with copper accents, this lodge looks down on
Åre from its lofty mountain perch. Its stylish, contemporary rooms are grouped according
to precious metals; the Gold Suites come equipped with Playstation 3 for après-ski gam-
ing. Its spa offers facials, massages and mineral baths and the three-course seasonal dinner
menu (Skr395) is a worthy splurge.

This sprawling organic cafe and stone-oven bakery does an enormous all-you-can-eat
breakfast spread for Skr89 (7am to 10.30am), great coffee, pastries and huge sandwiches.
In the evenings, the upstairs restaurant serves the best of Norrland's seasonal cuisine.

Just off the main square, this American-style diner is where all the hungry bikers and ski-
ers converge to replenish burned calories by hoovering down Philly cheese steak, fajitas
