Many travel agents and bike-hire places on the island also rent out camping equipment.
In Visby, hire bikes from Skr100 per 24 hours at Gotlands Cykeluthyrning (
GOOGLE MAP ; 0498-21 41 33; www.gotlandscykeluthyrning.com ; Skeppsbron 2) , at the harbour.
It also rents tents (Skr100/500 per day/week), or for Skr340 per day (Skr1500 per week)
you can hire the 'camping package': two bikes, a tent, a camping stove and two sleeping
mats.
Kollektiv Trafiken ( 0498-21 41 12; www.gotland.se ) runs buses via most villages to all
corners of the island. The most useful routes, which have connections up to seven times
daily, operate between Visby and Burgsvik in the far south, Visby and Fårösund in the
north (also with bus connections on Fårö), and Visby and Klintehamn. A maximum-dis-
tance one-way ticket will not cost you more than Skr75 (although if you take a bike on
board it will cost an additional Skr40), but enthusiasts will find a monthly ticket good
value at Skr740.
