selling everything from apple mustard to apple cake, an apple orchard with numerous vari-
eties of (labelled) trees, and a restaurant and cafe (try the baked apple cobbler with cus-
tard). You can taste cider from 11am to 3pm daily (no reservations necessary) for Skr40 to
Skr70 depending on whether calvados (apple brandy) is on your tipple list. Or splash out
on an evening tasting with snacks (Skr395).
Kiviksgraven HISTORIC SITE
(Kungagraven; 0414-703 37; adult/child Skr25/free; 10am-6pm mid-May-Aug; )
Believed to be a site of ancient human sacrifice, Kiviksgraven is Sweden's largest Bronze
Age grave, dating from around 1000 BC. It's an extraordinary shield-like cairn, about 75m
in diameter, which once contained a burial cist and eight engraved slabs. What you see in-
side are replicas; the tomb was looted in the 18th century.
The on-site cafe sells delicious sweet treats like raspberry crumble.
