PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Buses, trams and ferries run by
Västtrafik
make up the city's public-transport system; there
are Västtrafik information booths selling tickets and giving out timetables inside
Nils
Ericson Terminalen
, in front of the train station on
Drottningtorget
and at
Brunns-
parken
.
The most convenient way to travel around Göteborg is by tram. Colour-coded lines,
numbered 1 to 13, converge near Brunnsparken (a block from the train station). Trams run
every few minutes between 5am and midnight; some lines run a reduced service after mid-
night on Friday and Saturday.
Holders of the Göteborg Pass travel free, including on late-night transport. Otherwise a
city transport ticket costs Skr25/19 per adult/child (Skr45 on late-night transport). One-
and three-day travel cards (from Västtrafik information booths, 7-Eleven minimarkets or
Pressbyrån newsagencies) work out much cheaper than buying tickets each time you
travel. A 24-hour Dagkort (day pass) for the whole city area costs Skr80, Skr160 for three
days.
Västtrafik has regional passes for 24 hours/three days (adult Skr235/470) that give un-
limited travel on all
länstrafik
(regional) buses, trains and boats within the Göteborg, Bo-
huslän and Västergötland area.
