AMUSEMENT PARK

The attractions of Liseberg, Scandinavia's largest amusement park, are many and varied.
Adrenalin blasts include: the venerable wooden roller coaster Balder; its 'explosive' col-
league Kanonen, where you're blasted from 0km/h to 75km/h in under two seconds; At-
mosFear, Europe's tallest (116m) free-fall tower; and the park's biggest new attraction,
thrilling rollercoaster Helix that lets you experience weightlessness and loops the loop sev-
en times. Softer options include carousels, fairy-tale castles, an outdoor dance floor, ad-
venture playgrounds, and shows and concerts.
Day passes are the most popular method of entry and good value if you're planning on
going on numerous rides. Allternatively, entry to the park grounds costs Skr90 for those
taller than 90cm (the Göteborg Pass gets you into the park for free), and you pay for indi-
vidual rides using coupons: each ride costs between one and four coupons (Skr20 each)
per go. Opening hours are complex; check the website.
When it comes to refuelling in between rides, Lisberg is also the first theme park in the
world to offer a very high-quality, delicious, exclusively vegetarian/vegan buffet lunch
(Skr138) at the Green Room.
