Sundsbergs Gård, behind the Hotel Selma Lagerlöf, was featured in Lagerlöf's Gösta Ber-
ling's Saga and now contains a forestry museum, a furniture and textiles collection, an art
exhibition, a cafe and a manor house.
Ski Sunne SNOW SPORTS

Ski Sunne, the town's ski resort, has nine different descents, a snowboarding area and a
cross-country skiing stadium, and night skiing in some areas, plus all the usual ski-area fa-
cilities (lodge, bar-restaurant, shop, equipment rentals). In summer the resort becomes a
mountain-bike park.
Freya af Fryken CRUISE

The steamship Freya af Fryken sank in 1896, but it was raised and lovingly restored in
1994. Now you can sail along the lakes north and south of Sunne; departures are several
times weekly in summer. Lunch and dinner cruises are also on the program. The boat was
undergoing renovations when we visited; check with the tourist office for updates.

STF Vandrarhem Sunne HOSTEL

Part of a little homestead museum just north of town, this well-equipped hostel has beds in
sunny wooden cabins. There's a futuristic kitchen, an antique dining room and outside
tables and chairs for alfresco meals. Breakfast is available (Skr60) and bikes can be rented.
Sunne SweCamp Kolsnäs

This is a large, family-oriented campsite at the southern edge of town, with minigolf, a res-
taurant, a beach and assorted summer activities, plus bikes, boats and canoes for rent.
There's a good restaurant attached. Book ahead in summer.
