Getting There & Around
Västerås airport ( 021-80 56 00; www.vasterasflygplats.se ) , 6km east of the city centre, is
connected by bus L941. Budget carrier Ryanair flies here daily from the UK, and other
budget airlines reach a variety of destinations, including Crete and Turkey (weekly).

The bus and train stations are adjacent, on the southern edge of Västerås. Regional bus
569 runs frequently to Sala (Skr74, 50 minutes, frequent), as do trains (Skr43, 25 minutes).
Swebus Express ( 0200-21 82 18; www.swebusexpress.se ) runs to Uppsala (via Stock-
holm, Skr149, three hours, five daily), Stockholm (Skr89, 1½ hours, eight daily) and
Örebro (Skr89, 1¼ hours, seven daily).
SJ trains run frequently from Stockholm (Skr143, one hour) and to Örebro (Skr128, one
hour), Uppsala (Skr97, 1½ hours) and Eskilstuna (Skr78, 30 minutes).
