On the waterfront, Melanders Fisk is a seafood market that includes a cafe serving quality
grub. If there's a fish stew on the day's menu, don't miss it, but any seafood dish here is
bound to be satisfying.

Tourist Office TOURIST OFFICE

The tourist office is located inside the rådhus (town hall), off Hamngatan; look for the
onion dome, a product of the rådhus rebuilding in 1925.
Getting There & Away
Bus 670 from the Tekniska Högskolan tunnelbana station runs regularly to Vaxholm's
town centre and harbour. (SL passes valid.)
Waxholmsbolaget boats sail at least hourly between Vaxholm and Strömkajen in Stock-
holm from 8am to 7.15pm (50 to 70 minutes, Skr75 one way).
Strömma Kanalbolaget sails between Strandvägen (berth 16) and Vaxholm at noon and
3pm daily from April to December (three hours, Skr250 round trip).
Utö
Star of the archipelago's southern section, Utö has it all: sublime sandy beaches, lush
fairy-tale forests, sleepy farms, abundant bird life and a highly rated restaurant. Dining and
accommodation are in Gruvbryggan, the island's northernmost village and its main ferry
