Just off buzzing Götgatan, this historical hotel in two beautiful buildings has labyrinthine
hallways, gorgeous wooden floors and spiral staircases, affable staff, and budget as well as
standard rooms - both are recommended. The latter have antique rococo wallpaper, all
modern amenities and the odd chandelier. The location and reduced high-season rates
make this a fantastic deal.
Economy rooms are simple but clean and comfy, with sinks in the rooms, almost comic-
ally tiny shared bathrooms and some noise from the street at night - a fair trade for sea
views from the bay windows. Both price categories include the stellar buffet breakfast, a
notch or two above the usual. Limited parking is available nearby.

In a cheery yellow building next to the adorable Tantolunden park, the Zinkensdamm STF
is fun, attractive and well equipped - complete with a sleek guest kitchen and personal
lockers in each room - and caters for families with kids as well as pub-going backpackers.
It can be crowded and noisy, but that's the trade-off for an upbeat vibe.
There are laundry facilities (Skr45) and a sauna. Guests can hire bicycles for Skr50 per
hour. The hostel breakfast buffet isn't spectacular, but the cafe in the lobby sells good cof-
fee and pastries as well as other meals throughout the day. Hotel-standard rooms are in a
separate section and are spacious and comfortable.
