Step 1: Getting started
Open the file 3_3_parallaxTween.fla in the Chapter 3 folder on the accompanying
CD. In this exercise you will create a scrolling background similar to the ones seen in
Saturday morning cartoons. A completed version is provided in the Chapter 3 folder
on the CD. To see the finished results, locate and play 3_3_parallaxTween_DONE.swf
(Figure 3.11).

Step 2: Set up the Timeline
The Timeline contains one layer labeled sky . This layer will hold the sky and clouds
graphic. To achieve depth in this exercise, we will need a foreground, a middle ground,
and a background layer. Create three new layers and rename each accordingly.
Remember the stacking order in Flash: items in a higher layer will appear on top of
items in a lower layer. Make sure the foreground layer is on top (Figure 3.12).
