Step 7: Select All and Copy
The surface shading helps define the superhero's form and gives him a three-dimen-
sional look and feel. A cast shadow will further enhance the illusion of 3D space. A cast
shadow also reinforces the lighting setup. Choose Edit > Select All. This will select all
the vector shapes. Copy the selected shapes (Edit > Copy).
Step 8: Create a new layer and adjust the stacking order
Click on Insert Layer button located at the bottom-left corner of the Timeline. Rename
the layer to shadow. Position the layer at the bottom of the Timeline (Figure 2.27).

Step 9: Paste and change the fill color
Paste a copy of the superhero into this new layer. Make sure the layer's content is still
selected. Go to the Tools palette and click on the “Fill color” swatch (Figure 2.28). This
opens the Color Swatches pop-up palette. Select a light tan color (#CC9933). All the
shapes' fills will be set to this color.
