Simulating Depth Cues in Flash
Flash provides you with an assortment of tools and programming code to simulate
depth. Our first example continues your journey in developing three-dimensional
worlds within a two-dimensional environment. Let's begin.
Exercise 2.1: Depth Cues
Step 1: Getting started
Open the file 2_1_DepthCues.fla in the Chapter 2 folder on the accompanying CD.
This Flash movie contains the artwork you need to complete this exercise. Here we
have a mad scientist who has accidently cloned himself (Figure 2.10).
The artwork in this example consists of two instances of the same movie clip— MC_
Scientist . The movie clip is located in the Library. Each instance has been added to
a separate layer in the Timeline.
