In many situations, these approaches are valid, and it makes a lot of sense to use
them. There are circumstances, however, when the background must be a more impor-
tant and integral component of the scene. The example shown in Figure 7.31 is the
opening screen from village3D.swf . Here the background, the village castle, is an
actual part of the scene, and consideration has to be given to how other objects in the
scene interact with it. To interact with the movie, use the Up Arrow and Down Arrow
keys to zoom in and out, and the Left Arrow and Right Arrow keys to pan left and right.
Let's look at how this movie is put together and some of the considerations needed to
make it work. The process involves a combination of scripting, placement of objects in
3D space, and testing. Open village3D.fla to follow the script.
