services come true. Research efforts towards using Triple Space computing
to provide an alternative Semantic Web middleware are currently being un-
dertaken in several ongoing research projects.

Preliminary ideas and results
related to Triple Space computing are available, for instance, in [23, 39, 79].
It is our goal that the Web Service Modeling Ontology will provide the
foundations that will eventually cater for groundings to the best-suited and
most widely adopted service technologies, such that WSMO will be able to
provide the semantic descriptions in any of these technologies, be they “pure”
Web services, Triple Spaces, or another emerging technology.
