In-Depth Information
However, the dream of being registered as World Heritage sites has encouraged
the island residents to be proud of their islands and to love them even more. I was
told when interviewing Christians on Kami-Goto “It would be our greatest pleasure
if the churches were to become World Heritage sites. Having our churches, which
are properties inherited from our ancestors who suffered so much through the period
of hiding, evaluated so highly would be a great delight to me as well”.
