(3) Religious Events
The persons in charge, place, and the contents of religious event in Shimo-
uchikawa community are shown in Table 3.10 . A representative from each
group and each manager of the Ujiko distributed amulets from the Oiwa shrine
to those who desired them on January 2. Before 1994, members used to prepare
fermented sweet sake for visitors on New Year's Day, but this practice stopped
to reduce the workload.
