and well. It would be a fitting and promising point for us to leave the Arctic Messenger as
it continues its journey through environmental change.
At the end of the preceding chapter , I asked whether the Arctic Council would heed
the call from the Arctic Messenger. Has it listened? Has it understood? Will it act? These
questions remain unanswered at this time, but the legacy of the Rovaniemi Process and of
the Arctic Council gives cause for some optimism.
We have reached the end of the Arctic Messenger's story - for now. I hope it will ulti-
mately have a happy ending.
