If you're anywhere near Hanstholm, head to the harbour then follow the signs to this un-
prepossessing cafeteria. On the menu are some spectacular fishy treats - the stjerneskud is
the house speciality: two fried and one steamed piece of fish, plus smoked salmon, shrimp
and asparagus on bread. It's so good we had to visit again the next day for seconds.

The summertime tourist office is at the local lighthouse dating from 1843 (which you can
climb, for Dkr10). It's often run by volunteers, so hours may be slightly erratic.
Getting There & Away
By road, Hanstholm is at the terminus of Rtes 181, 26 and 29. Thisted, 21km to the south
via Rte 26, has the nearest train station. Buses 90 and 322 regularly connect Thisted and
Hanstholm (Dkr30, 45 minutes); bus 322 runs via Klitmøller.
