Getting There & Around
BOAT
The following international ferries use Hirtshals as their main port.
Color Line
FERRY
Service to/from the Norwegian ports of Kristiansand and Larvik.
Fjordline
FERRY
Fast catamaran to Kristiansand from mid-May to August, plus year-round ferry to
Stavanger and Bergen, and to Langesund (all in Norway).
BUS
Summer bus 99 stops at Nordsøen Oceanarium, Tornby Strand and Hirtshals station.
CAR
Hirtshals is 49km southwest of Skagen via Rtes 597 and 40, and 41km northwest of Frede-
rikshavn via the E39 and Rte 35.
TRAIN
Hirtshals' train station is on Havnegade, west of the ferry terminals. A private railway con-
nects Hirtshals with Hjørring at least hourly (Dkr30, 20 minutes). At Hjørring you can
connect with DSB trains to Aalborg, Frederikshavn or destinations further south.
