Long-distance buses stop at the bus station ( GOOGLE MAP ; Fredensgade) south of JF
Kennedys Plads (behind the Kennedy Arkaden shopping centre), not far from the train sta-
tion.
From Aalborg you can reach most Jutland towns of note on the X-bus network - info is
online at the site of the regional transport company, Nordjyllands Trafikselskab (NT;
www.nordjyllandstrafikselskab.dk ) or via the helpful bus station information desk (

In summer, the good-value NT Travel Pass covers 24/72 hours of transport in northern
Jutland (train and bus) for Dkr150/250. Two children under 12 years can accompany a
paying adult for free. Buy the pass online ( www.nordjyllandstrafikselskab.dk ) and it's de-
livered to your phone.
Abildskou BUS

Express bus line 888 operates once or twice daily from Aalborg to Copenhagen's Valby
station (Dkr360, 5½ hours). Good fare discounts are available - see the website.
Thinggaard Express BUS

Bus 980 from Esbjerg to Frederikshavn once or twice daily, calling at Viborg and Aalborg
en route.
CAR & MOTORCYCLE
Aalborg is 117km north of Aarhus and 65km southwest of Frederikshavn. The E45 by-
passes the city centre, tunnelling under the Limfjord, while Rte 180 (which links up with
the E45 both north and south of the city) leads into the centre.
To get to Lindholm Høje, or points north of the centre, take Rte 180 (Vesterbro), which
crosses Limfjordsbroen.
TRAIN
Trains run about hourly north to Frederikshavn (Dkr100, 70 minutes), where there are on-
ward connections to Skagen (from Aalborg Dkr120, two hours), and south to Aarhus
(Dkr194, 1½ hours) or to Copenhagen (Dkr431, 4½ to five hours).
