Danhostel Aalborg
HOSTEL
The hostel is handy for boating activities on the fjord (you can hire kayaks here in sum-
mer) but it's hardly central. The surrounds are green and the accommodation is basic (all
rooms have bathrooms); dorm beds are available in summer. There's an adjoining camp-
ground with budget cabins. It's in the marina area about 3km west of the town centre; take
bus 13 (which stops short of the hostel).

Book early to snare one of only six theatrically decorated rooms over three floors (no lift)
at this late-19th-century villa. The three small self-contained apartments are the standout
bargain here - the English Room is especially lovely. Three rooms share a large bathroom
and guest kitchen. It's the most interesting option in town, so the reasonable rates and cent-
ral location are added bonuses.

Some of the newly renovated rooms at this smart fjordside hotel near the Utzon Center
have water views, and the (limited) free parking is a bonus, as is the central location, and
on-site gym and bar. Best rates are found online.

This old seamen's hotel was once oddly placed, but encroaching harbourside redevelop-
ment now sees it in the heart of the action, with Nordkraft and Musikkens Hus as neigh-
bours. Comfortable, no-frills rooms are on offer, but there are exciting plans for a big ex-
tension and dramatic makeover (including the addition of high-end rooms). Free parking
and friendly staff, too.
