Swimming
For idyllic swimming, head to the lakeshore of
Almindsø
. Head south of town on Fre-
deriksberggade and take a left at the roundabout in the direction of Horsens. The swim-
ming area is signposted on your right after 1km; there are bathing jetties, change rooms
and a kiosk here.

Scandis love jazz, and Silkeborg has embraced it with the five-day Riverboat Jazz Festival,
held in late June. It's not quite New Orleans, but you can buy a ticket and take a cruise
down the river, or stroll the streets and take advantage of the free performances.
